Our Story
The Lion’s Den Candle Company was started in 2020 by Jacob in the depths of Covid-19. Jacob, a chemist by training, wanted to bring warmth & happiness into the homes of the folks most adversely affected by the pandemic. He set forth on a mission to create “perfect” candles to gift to folks struggling. The response in the community was overwhelming, & many wanted to buy the candles for themselves or to also gift the joy a candle can provide. Thus, a new business sprang forth out of the COVID calamity.
Jacob hand pours each candle himself locally. He uses 100% soy wax, which is better for you & the environment. Jacob maximizes the essential oil concentration for each scent to ensure the aroma permeates the entire room, even after the flame is extinguished! The wicks, wax & scents are free of harmful chemicals. Every batch of candles is tested by Jacob to ensure the candle burns cleanly and beautifully. It takes him a month to do the experiments necessary to perfect a new scent! Jacob has recruited his husband Tony to help with labelling, packing & shipping the candles.The candles have already been shipped to 15 different states!
It was a priority for Jacob to create his candles in an environmentally respectful manner, so the Lion’s Den Candle Company products & all packaging & shipping material are biodegradable or recyclable.
